The Positive Environmental Impact Of Powder Coating

The Positive Environmental Impact Of Powder Coating

In addition to being more durable than conventional paint, one of the other major benefits of powder coating is that it is considerably more environmentally friendly than other methods.

Negligible amounts of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)

Because powder coatings contain no solvents, the process releases negligible amounts of VOCs into the atmosphere. This means that the whole process generates little to no pollution and means that there is no need for costly pollution control equipment.

Free from HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants)

The powder coating process is totally free from hazardous air pollutants. VOCs and HAPs can be dangerous to your health, so other coating processes that do emit them have to implement expensive respiration and filtration systems to protect from this.

Reusable Overspray

Any overspray that occurs during the powder coating process can be collected up and returned to the hopper to be reused for a different project. This is not only good for reducing waste and environmental impact, but it also means cost savings for the manufacturer, which can then be passed on to the customer!
