Powder coating is an environmentally friendly and cost effective method of applying paint to a variety of metals, including aluminium and galvanised steel components.
Unlike wet painting, which requires the use of solvents, powder coating works using an electrostatic charge to transfer the powder to the item. As a result it has a much lower impact on our environment.
The powder-coated product is then heated to a temperature of approximately 200 Degrees Centigrade in specially designed ovens. This process melts the powder, and then fuses it to the surface of the metal, which then forms an incredibly durable, resilient and smooth coating when solidified.
The benefits of powder coating
Exceptional quality: powder coating gives excellent adhesion to properly pre-treated products, good depth of colour, resistance to corrosion and UV degradation and a life expectancy in excess of 25 years.
Cost effective: because the powder is applied electro-statically it is fully recoverable. This enables us to cut down significantly on our wastage and reuse product with no loss of quality. |
